Hyphae
Hyphae is one of the multiple outcomes generated within a compositional ecosystem formed by 18 composers: a network of exchanges where each result remains unstable, transient, and never definitive. Like an open text, the work is shaped and reshaped through a continuous circulation of shared materials, manipulated and returned, always ready to be remolded again.
Like an expanding subterranean organism, Hyphae arises from the intertwining of multiple sonic gestures, exchanges, transformations, and mutual remodellings. The piece is the result of a sympoietic process: a system of interactions and feedbacks among several participants in the network, modeled on the principle of L-Systems, growth models inspired by natural processes, where simple rules generate complex and unpredictable forms, analogous to the rhizomatic behavior of mycelium. In this iterative cycle, sonic materials lose their individual authorship and merge into a shared ecosystem.
The sonic matter breathes, expands, and contracts, alternating tension and calm, density and rarefaction. From subtle textures emerge presences that multiply and dissolve over time. In this constantly evolving space, the work does not present itself as a finished object, but as a living organism.
